Garry "Big G" McColman:
Garry McColman.... Big "G" has been a DJ in country music since 1965. Garry has won many awards as one of Canada's "Most Popular country music personality" from the CCMA... the Canadian Country Music Association". Garry also has been nominated as Kingston's "Citizen of the Year" and Kingston's "Business Person of the Year". Garry is quick to say, "Giving back to the community is something I have really evjoyed over the years".
Garry says he was "overjoyed" to be given the opportunity to have a country music radio station again. "It has been a wonderful experience since putting the new KIX 93.5 on the air".
Our team here at the station is a group of wonderful people who really love country music. I am looking forward to many years of enjoyable memories".

Hi, I’m Wayne Mathews…can you tell I’m an army brat. Yeah, grew up in the arms of the military from Camp Borden to Halifax, Cobourg,and even Germany for a few years. I actually met Elvis over there in 1959, little did I know…Still have an affiliation with the military as a proud member of the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit (Vimy) Please Support Our Troops.
My wife Jo-Ann and I resided in the Greater Napanee Area for the past twenty years and we truly love it. It wasn’t easy but we did manage to raise five wonderful kids and they all seem to have turned out okay. (Jason, Jordan, Marshall, Sara-Jo and Laurie-Ann) We have a beautiful granddaughter (Kelly) and another precious little girl (Madalynn) on the way.
My radio career began in 1970 in Smith’s Falls and I have worked in Ottawa, Montreal and had the good fortune and opportunity to hone my skills at a couple of legendary radio stations earlier in my broadcasting journey, namely CKLW (the big 8) in Windsor-Detroit and CFGM in Toronto (Canada’s country giant in the 70’s and 80’s)
I have also dabbled in singing, acting and voice-over work in the past and continue to do so when time permits.
I am a true country boy and enjoy the great outdoors and wide open spaces. My favourite pastimes are hunting, fishing, sports, cooking, listening to all genres of music and of course watching my beloved Leafs. One of these years their gonna do it. Ya gotta Be-Leaf!!
